Feedstocks
Sustainable Solutions for a Greener Future
Transforming waste into valuable resources
Feedstocks play a crucial role in sustainable energy production, converting waste materials into valuable resources for renewable fuels. Biofront’s commitment to environmental stewardship is reflected in our innovative approach to collecting and processing various feedstocks. These efforts not only reduce environmental impact but also contribute to a circular economy, ensuring that waste materials are efficiently repurposed.
Biofront’s diverse range of feedstocks includes Used Cooking Oil (UCO), Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME), and Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL). Each of these materials is meticulously collected to be supplied for biofuel production, supporting global efforts to reduce reliance on fossil fuels. By harnessing these waste products, Biofront is paving the way for a more sustainable and eco-friendly future.
Used Cooking Oil (UCO)
Used Cooking Oil (UCO) is a byproduct of food production, found in establishments like hotels, restaurants, malls, cinemas, and schools.
When not properly collected or recycled, UCO can contaminate municipal water systems or be improperly reused in food preparation.
Biofront addresses this issue by conducting direct collection of UCO. The collected oil is then processed at our dedicated facilities before being stored and then delivered to bio refineries globally.
The waste oil is used in the production of renewable fuels and products. This effort seeks to eliminate the harmful disposal of the oil by providing an alternative that reduces carbon emissions, supports the circular economy and drives the adoption of renewable fuels over fossil fuels
Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME)
Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) is a wastewater byproduct generated during the production of crude palm oil.
Traditionally, this effluent is pumped into open-air ponds where it releases harmful CO2 gasses into the atmosphere. Biofront collaborates with partners to tackle this environmental issue by extracting the oil layer from the wastewater.
The extracted oil is then processed and stored before being exported to bio refineries.
By converting POME into a valuable feedstock for renewable fuels, Biofront helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promotes sustainable palm oil production practices.
Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL)
Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL) is a chemical compound extracted from the shells of cashew nuts.
This versatile product is sourced by Biofront and supplied to bunker fuel suppliers, refineries, sustainable material producers and power stations.
Biofront is pioneering the valorization of this waste stream at the origin countries it is produced. We continue to find innovative uses of this complex yet highly valuable product.
